Background on Plant Disease

Plant disease refers to a series of morphological, physiological and biochemical pathological changes in plants under the influence of biological or non-biological factors, which hinder the normal growth and development process, thereby affecting human economic benefits. Plants are constantly being attacked by a variety of pathogens and pests, including viruses, bacteria, oomycetes, fungi, insects, nematodes, and even parasitic plants.
